Ford Lake Cottages – Fountain, Michigan waterfront recreation

About Ford Lake Cottages

Welcome to the home page of Ford Lake Cottages.

It is with great regret that we have made the decision to put a hold on rentals for the 2020 summer season due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. We hope to be able to resume rentals in the summer of 2021. We hope that everyone stays safe and we will see you in a year!

We have three cabins and a spacious main home on Ford Lake near Fountain, Michigan. Fountain is about 15 minutes northeast of Ludington in the heart of the Manistee National Forest. The cabins are on a spring fed lake that has quiet hours after 7p.m. So you can enjoy the peace and quiet of a no-wake-lake after a day of fun on the water.

We have three rowboats for guest use and there is a public boat launch about a mile away where you can launch your own boat or jet skis. The address of both the house and cottages is 5174 Ford Lake Road, Fountain, MI 49410. For the safety and enjoyment for all of our guests we ask that you leave the family pets at home.

During the summer season, Memorial Day to Labor Day, the cottages and the main house rent by the week only.

During the spring, summer and fall the North Country Trail is less than five miles away for world-class hiking and mountain biking. The Lumberjack 100 Mountain Bike Race is held at Big M ski area each June and draws professional riders as well as local amateurs. Summer is a blast on the lake of course with boating, fishing and swimming.

Winter in Fountain means snowmobiling. You can ride right to major trailheads right from the cabins. Baldwin, Wellston, Irons, Cadillac and Manistee Trails are rideable right from your spot on the lake.

The main house is turnkey, bring clothing, food and beach towels and you are good to go. The cabins are a tad more rustic but offer screened in porches, a fridge, cooktop, picnic table and share two gas grills.
